Across Wake County, the arts have come to life in classrooms this fall! In our ever-growing county, we currently support Artists in Schools in 150 elementary, middle, and high schools!
This fall, Wake County School System employees managed to donate more than $28,000 to United Arts Council during their annual workplace giving campaign. Why do they do it? Because they see firsthand the work that we do on behalf of educators and students. Teachers attend our arts integration training; they apply to the Wheels on the Bus Fund so no students are left behind on a field trip; they watch and participate in Artists in Schools assemblies, workshops, and residencies. And we could not be more grateful for their support.
With an increase in applications for Wheels on the Bus funding each year, we could not cover all the admissions costs for field trips that were requested. We also couldn’t cover all the requests for master classes in our high schools.
But we have good news! To help us raise funds to meet the gaps, a generous donor has agreed to match your donation—up to $10,000—now through December 31, 2018. Donate on Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, or any day before the end of the year. Please help us reach our goal of $20,000!
