Featuring Poetry Night and Open Mic Reading with 2017 Piedmont Laureate Mimi Herman

Join us for a delightful evening of hands-on poetry. We’ll explore two different types of poetry--ekphrasis (poems about art) and word bowl poetry--with Mimi as your guide, then share our poems in an open mic reading. Poetry night is open to brand-new and experienced poets of all ages. Bring your best friend, your children, your great-aunt Edna, and discover how easy and fun it is to write poetry.

The  Visual Art Exhibit features mixed media by Sheila Hall.

A portion of VAE's Project Postcard will also be on display featuring postcard designs from students at the following schools:

Apex High
Broughton High
Garner High
Holly Ridge Middle

Free and open to the public. All ages are welcome.
