A full-day program of hand-on workshops and assemblies, or workshops only. As many activities as you can fit into the day. Typically, 8-12 activities serve several hundred students. In hands-on workshops, each child plays one of the 30 harps the artist brings. Kids experiment with acoustical science, apply new vocabulary, play songs. Holly guides them through scientific concepts and musical material. Within a few minutes, students are playing a whole song. Activities are adapted to grade level, e.g. K-2 plays a song, 3-5 uses more complex patterns, 6-8 creates a new pattern. Each workshop serves one grade at a time, or two contiguous grades, e.g. K-1 or 1-2. (Any middle school grades can be together.) 60 students maximum per workshop in K-2, because they work in pairs. 30 students maximum per workshop in grade 3-8, because each child has his/her own harp. Workshops are a perfect follow-up to "The Science and Math of Harp Music" assembly.
