Burning Coal presents George Orwell’s dystopian fable, Animal Farm. Follow the animals of The Manor Farm as they rebel against Farmer Jones and begin operating the farm themselves. They’re dreams of living free from the reign of humans leads them to great heights, but they may soon find themselves being ruled by a far more ruthless tyrant. Join us on this cautionary tale of the abuse of power. Burning Coal Theatre provides study guides to prepare students and assist teachers prior to the performance. Schools may request a “talkback” with the cast to learn about their lives as actors or ask questions about the production. The performance runs approximately 50 min with talkbacks lasting 5-10 minutes. Groups of 150 or less may inquire about a field trip to see the performance at Burning Coal Theatre in downtown Raleigh at the historic Murphey School.
