Journey through music history with two vivacious, entertaining guides who introduce primitive stringed instruments and describe their evolution into current instruments with a demonstration of their use today in various styles of American Music, including: Classical, Ragtime, Swing, Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Dixieland, Bluegrass, Country, Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll. Each moment of history is brought to life with costumes, instruments and props. The instruments upon which the duo perform include: violin, string bass, acoustic guitar, banjo, electric guitar, dobro, mandolin, steel guitar, lap harp, harpsichord, piano, harmonica and various other "special effect"ť instruments, as well as harmonic vocals. The show involves many interdisciplinary associations: History & Social Studies, Language Arts, Theatre Arts, Science, Music Appreciation and Performance. Music educators, published composers and accomplished musicians, they engage student audiences by teaching, acting & playing while entertaining on more than 10 instruments during a high-energy, exciting performance. Members of a premiere dance band, they have extensive experience entertaining audiences of all ages with music from all genres. With a strong theatrical background, Patrice performed as an artist in the schools in Maryland. Dedicated to their arts, they strive to educate and inspire their listeners through history, drama, science, language arts and musical performance while encouraging student participation in the show.
