The works of Larry Dean and Jean Cheely will be on display in the Marilyn J. Harrison Gallery in the United Arts Lobby, 110 S. Blount Street,
September 4-24, 2009.
Dean’s paintings are known for unexpected, pulsing colors that make North Carolina scenes fresh and intense. “I also want my acrylics to convey the respect for the history and culture of Raleigh that I feel as I paint,” he says.
Jean Cheely is a glass artist specializing in the Tiffany-style copper foil technique. She works to maximize the play of light using color, texture and shapes to display the beauty of the glass.
There will be a First Friday Opening Reception on September 4, 6-9 pm. The gallery is free & open to the public Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
