
Congressman Brad Miller (NC-13) congratulated Parker Stewart from Greensboro Day School as the 13th District First Place Winner and Congressman David Price (NC-4) announced Anna Thelen from Cardinal Gibbons as the 4th District First Place Winner of the 2011 Congressional Art Contest at special awards ceremonies this week. The winners were awarded a $1500 scholarship from a prestigious collegiate art and design school and a $500 US Savings Bond. Their work will hang for a year in the Cannon Pedestrian Tunnel to the US Capitol and be viewed by thousands as part of a special show.
United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, Durham Arts Council and the Orange County Arts Commission jointly sponsor this event each year.
