My work is drawn from my experience of people in urban settings as they interact with me and with each other. I make images from chance and random encounters, from writing and images on walls and buildings, from signs and wonders in the street. I seek the moment when action, expression, perspective, and light coalesce into an image that is dynamic and engaging and that invites the viewer into involvement, discovery, and delight.
I want to observe moments that embody creativity in the construction and performance of the world and that result in images that will hold the viewer's attention. I seek images that incorporate a tension between form and content and that extend the composition to include the viewer's world. I especially seek moments that comment on the changes and chances of life. I enjoy spontaneous interaction with my subjects while making images so that we collaborate in the creative moment.
All my work is made on film which is then scanned into a high resolution file. All images are printed according to the highest archival standards using the pigment inkjet process. Images are matted using acid-free materials.
Images are produced in two series. In the first series, each image is 10x15 inches in size, matted to 16x21, and produced in a limited edition of 25 prints (with 5 Artist's Proofs), for $300.00 each. Images are also available in an image size of 8x12 (matted to 14x18) in an open series for $100 per image (again including packing, shipping, and insurance).
