Glenis Redmond visited Mt. Vernon Redirection School on January 11, 2006 to prepare students and teachers for the residencies she will lead there in March.
In the morning, Glenis performed some of her poems for the students in the school's media center. After her performances, she took questions from the students. Teachers commented throughout the day how engaged and attentive the students had been during the performances, and one pointed out that her students had asked to begin writing to prepare for March.

During the workshop for teachers, Glenis taught the teachers a poem called "The Truth," by Ted Jones. Teachers performed the poem, using gestures they developed as a group.
