Sixteen municipal employees or members of their immediate families won awards in the third annual The National Arts Program® exhibit and contest for the City of Raleigh and County of Wake. Seven others won "honorable mentions." Contest entries are on display from December 5, 2005, through January 6, 2006, on the first two floors of City Hall.

The exhibit and contest is co-sponsored by The National Arts Program® Foundation; the City of Raleigh and its Arts Commission; and the County of Wake and the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, Inc. Exhibit space rotates between Raleigh's City Hall and the Wake County Office building year to year.
This year's exhibit included 76 entries in five categories: amateur, intermediate and professional among adults and two youth categories. Best of Show and first place winners among the adult categories received $300; second place, $200; and third, $100. Youth first place winners received $75; second place, $50; third, $25.
Judges for the 2005 exhibit were Lia Newman, the Exhibits Manager at Artspace, and Ann Roth, the Gallery Director at Meredith College.

The National Arts Program® provides professional and non-professional artists with a rare opportunity to exhibit their works publicly and to compete for cash prizes.
