“The power of the arts helps you retain the concepts you are being taught.” “Poetry is more than a month named April.” “This will make me become excited about teaching again.” “I could actually experience not just observe.”
Why should you attend?

We all know there are more effective ways to learn than rote memorization. Teaching that integrates the arts provides a rich educational environment for students. So we’ve designed the United Arts Council Arts Integration Institute to give you a hands-on opportunity to work with some of the finest teaching artists in the country to learn techniques that will invigorate your classrooms.

What will you take back
to your school?
  • Practical arts integration methods to use in every classroom–and the ability to apply these methods across the curriculum
  • Understanding of authentic arts integration and the principles of Multiple Intelligences
  • A collaborative, arts-integrated, multiple intelligence unit to teach in the beginning of the year, using the skills and talents of all four team members from each school
  • A plan to engage the school and the community in arts integration, including practical methods to bring new participants into the process
  • A wider knowledge of the resources available for arts integration in your schools
  • Knowledge of top teaching artists in the country and this state available for residency work
Who can attend?

Four-person teams (administrator, classroom teacher, arts teacher, parent) from elementary schools to participate in one of two tracks: immersion for new schools and advanced for returning schools.
