The Poetry of Ecosystems: Explore how animal, plants and climates interact to form miniature worlds in perfect balance. Your students will put the eco in ecosystem and the poet in poetry. Condensing the Water Cycle: If you were a body of water, what would you notice? How does the water cycle really work? In this hands-on residency, students write about bodies of water from the point of view of their favorite lake, rivers and streams, They then discover how to translate the water cycle into movement and create concrete poems demonstrating how the water cycle works. The Poetry of Landforms: Discover how landforms can make poetry of the landscape through rich metaphors and word choices that deepen student understanding of science and social studies. STEAM Poetry Residencies can be adapted to meet the Common Core and Essential Standards for any grade level. One- and two-day STEAM Poetry Workshops are also available for teachers or students.
