Workshops: Students will experience the history of American music from its roots in Bluegrass and Rockabilly through the origins of Jazz to the powerful messages of contemporary Pop, Country and Rock 'n Roll. They will learn to play the instruments used to produce the various genres of music popular in American history and will learn the unique stylizations of each period of American music history. This workshop is an exciting, stimulating and motivating way to learn American History by studying the music of each generation, including the underlying reasons for its popularity and its relationship to historical events in the U.S. and around the world. Each workshop is carefully tailored to the age of the students in the class.
Multi-talented and versatile, Patrice and Dan have entertained audiences around the country for over 20 years. Music educators, published composers and accomplished musicians, they engage student audiences by teaching, acting & playing while entertaining on more than 10 instruments during a high-energy, exciting performance. Members of a premiere dance band, they have extensive experience entertaining audiences of all ages with music from all genres. With a strong theatrical background, Patrice performed as an artist in the schools in Maryland. Dedicated to their arts, they strive to educate and inspire their listeners through history, drama, science, language arts and musical performance while encouraging student participation in the show.
