Number Drummer Workshops provide elementary or middle school participants with the opportunity to learn drumming through mathematics in a more individualized small group setting. During the workshops, participants walk through the key components that make up a Number Drummer performance, and learn, apply, and practice the required skills and concepts using instruments. Participants also exercise creative thinking as they produce, practice, and present their rhythmic work of art. Elementary workshops have a greater focus on math skills, such as addition, multiplication, division, fractions, money, algebra and more. Middle school workshops have a greater focus on music skills, yet reinforce and utilize mastered math skills such as fractions, ratios, proportions, and more. Music skills include beat, rhythm, timbre, dynamics, tempo, and form. It is a fun, energizing, and engaging experience that reveals musical talents and mathematical abilities. It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
