Hampstead Stage presents four tours per year that travel throughout all 48 contiguous states. Performances include two professional actors, each playing multiple roles. Plays are hour-long adaptations of classic literature and include a question and answer session at the end. Hampstead Stage Company's goal is to get students excited about reading, all while instilling a love for theatre and the arts. Each show comes equipped with an accompanying curriculum-based, grade-specific study guide and activities. Fall Tour productions of Robin Hood & A Christmas Carol are geared toward grades K-8 and are available October 30-December 22, 2017. Our Spring Tour productions of Beauty and the Beast & Greek Mythology: The Tale of Psyche and Eros are geared toward grades K-8 and will run March 12-May 6, 2018.
Hampstead Stage Company performs one-hour adaptations of literary classics with professional actors, each playing multiple roles. They travel nationwide, bringing realistic sets and costumes, designed to fit a variety of venues. Because their sets are so transportable, they are able to reach audiences who might not otherwise have access to professional theatre. Since 1983, they have performed for over 21 million people. They believe all children should have access to the arts, not just the privileged few. They strive to spark an interest in reading the classics, instill a love and appreciation of the arts, preserve theatre for future generations and bring theatre to audiences that might not be able to otherwise see a live performance.
