"Garbage Is My Bag"ť is an award winning performance by Jack Golden as the comedic "expert"ť Dr. T. With a "Ph.D. in Garbology,"ť and a zany, irresistible personality, he juggles and jokes his way through a world of waste. Dr. T. delights his audiences while sharing his knowledge that rubbish is a resource that is just too good to throw away. Since 1989, "Garbage Is My Bag"ť has helped over one million children around the country explore serious issues about our wasteful habits in the hilarious context of a professional staged variety show. Jack Golden uses the power of live performance to engage children with facts of our solid waste problems and a positive model of how to solve them. Garbage Is My Bag presents children with rewarding and important ways they can directly contribute to their communities.

Artist Background

Jack Golden began his actor-mime-juggler career in the late 1970s. He was the featured clown with the Pickle Family Circus of San Francisco and a founding member of The Wright Brothers (a vaudeville touring company voted "Best of Fest"ť at the 1987 International Clown & Mime festival), and he has performed at Lincoln Center. He began a solo career in 1989, and he has created and performed nationally acclaimed, award-winning educational programs for schools and theaters. In addition Mr. Golden conducts innovative and interactive workshops for students and adults at all levels. He has taught at Boston University, Savannah College of Arts & Design, New England Circus Center Academy, and numerous elementary and middle schools across the country.
